What contest are you prepping for now?
I am currently bulking for a show around April 2014 in the US but of course that depends if the IFBB are going to do away with the Pro Women's Body Building class.
How's it going?
I'm really pleased with my bulking season. The weights are heavy and I'm getting stronger. I have a training plan set out and so far all targets are being hit on time. I'm excited about the changes in store.
How many years have you trained?
Coming up to 5 years now.
Why bodybuilding? I love body building because you're able to mould and shape your body specifically to your personal requirements through training and diet. This fascinates and excites me because having a muscular body and combining it with femininity is my ideal physique.
How and why did you start ? I started bodybuilding around four and a half years ago now. I attended a bodybuilding show to support a colleague and I was mesmerised when I saw the women's bodybuilding class appear on stage. I knew instantaneously that it was how I wanted my body to look.
What is your dream?
My dream is to run my own gym which is geared towards helping other athletes achieve the goals they strive for.
What is your short term goal right now?
To put on 5kgs (11lbs) of muscle.
Have you competed or do you plan to ?
I have won a number of amateur regional shows, the British Womens Bodybuiding title, IFBB World title and Overall title
What keeps you motivated?
My passion for the sport of bodybuilding.
What do you love most about bodybuilding?
I like the disciplined and structured lifestyle. I love to goal set and see results.
And what do you hate the most?
I can't think of anything I hate about the sport.
What is the biggest thrill or moment you have got from bodybuilding?
Hearing that I was the first British athlete to have won the IFBB World Title and having the national anthem played.
How often do you train?
6 days a week
What is your program/split?
Monday Biceps and Triceps
Saturday Traps, Calves and abs
What really works for you?
Having a consistent eating plan and consistent, smart training plan in place.
Favorite bodypart to train and why?
Legs. I love the pain.
Biggest improvement in last 12 months?
Improvements you are targeting now ?
What tips would you give to newbies?
Make sure you train "smart". Get professional guidance with the execution of your exercises in your training plan. If you're training properly you will achieve symmetry and quality muscle gains. And of course a good nutrition plan.
Any training secrets or amazing exercises which have worked for you?
Slowing movements down and "squeezing" the muscle with each rep. Mind to muscle!
