Firefighter, Mom and incredible female bodybuilder – meet reigning NABBA British Ms Trained Figure Sarah Hallett

When jaw-droppingly muscular bodybuilding mom Sarah Hallett stepped on stage and flexed her way to the 2013 NABBA Britain she was on fire.

Which was slightly unfortunate, as this superb 43-year-old muscle athlete has a full time job as one of Wales' women firefighters!

As luck would have it, it was Sarah's visit to the World Firefighter Games in Liverpool, in 2007 which convinced her to switch from distance running (which she was competing in) to bodybuilding.

She told realfemalebodybuilding.com: “ I started bodybuilding in April 2008 after watching the female figure competition at the World Firefighter Games in 2007.

“I remember thinking ‘I’m in better shape than her’ and decided to try a competition and see what it was like.”

Fast forward five years and the super-fit but skinny Sarah has become a muscular, but beautifully balanced, female bodybuilder and the deserved winner of the NABBA 2013 Trained Figure (see video - Sarah's expression when she's announced as the winner is priceless!)

Sarah's 5ft 6ins (167cms), 140lbs (63.5kg) frame packs some serious female muscle. Her biceps are outstanding and the tie-in from her triceps through her delts and into her back is simply magnificent. Throw in a tiny, super-tight waist and some big, well-balanced quads and no one can get next to her on stage.

It is this incredible quality which saw her only narrowly miss out on the 2013 NABBA Universe when she was jst edged out by Brazilian Carol Bittencourt – a result which mystified many in the audience.

No matter – Sarah possesses the cast iron focus and discipline of the truly successful bodybuilder and is in love with the sport. She is determined to come back bigger and better and ha taken a year off to put on some size.

She said: “I have just started my year off-season to grow for the NABBA Universe on October 25th 2014, because I have competed twice this year and need to make improvements.

“But that is why I love bodybuilding, for the intensity and the ability to make changes to your body.”

We have no doubts at all that Sarah Hallett is on the cusp of a long and glorious career in female bodybuilding.

What keeps you motivated? Feeling fit and healthy.
 
What do you love most about bodybuilding? The ability to improve all body parts as needed and the amazing 'exhausted feeling' after a really good workout
 
And what do you hate the most? There are lots of people with issues in this industry unfortunately. You have to keep an open mind.
 
What is the biggest thrill or moment you have got from bodybuilding? Being on stage at the Universe with the best in the world

How often do you train? Gym 4 days per week
 
What is your program/split? Shoulders/legs/chest and tricep/back and bicep

Favorite bodypart to train and why? My shoulders because they grow so quickly
 
Biggest improvement in last 12 months? Glutes
 
Improvements you are targeting ? Quads – they need a lot more size.
 
What tips would you give to newbies? Keep consistent and do it because you want. Be careful of seeking too much advice.
 
Any training secrets or amazing exercises which have worked for you? Leg press and walking lunges
 
Favourite supplement and why? Whey protein isolate cookies and cream – high protein and tastes delicious
 
Kids? One daughter 14
