And this 42-year-old competitor, who has her sights set firmly on the Ms Olympia, utilises a special exercise to fill out her traps and build her back at the same time.
It is a compound exercise she calls a Dumbbell Deadlift Shrug.
Sherri told realfemalebodybuilding.com: “It is a dead lift / shrug combo exercise which really hits the lower back and traps.
“But you need to be very careful to use the appropriate weight – it needs to be managable enough to be able and get a good shrug at the end of the movement but also heavy enough for the deadlift.
“You're lifting with your back primarily (ie not the legs) and hitting a shoulder shrug at the top. It hits your legs as well of course but it is mainly for back.
“It is an exercise for Back Day. Shrugs alone could be either on Shoulder Day or Back Day but I usually do simple shrugs on shoulder day.”
